| I remember being very frustrated one time while working on a piece and asking his advice....his response was "It needs more paint." This has since become my mantra.
This has not been an easy journey, in fact I have only returned to creating art since 2004. There was a nine year period when life caught me up completely and I did not lift a brush. I wish I could regain those unproductive years, but life has afforded me so many wonderful opportunities since then. My family has been extremely supportive of my artisic endeavors and my husbands loving encouragement has been a driving force in my return to the easel.
The landscapes I create are mostly from local scenes that have caught my interest for their simple beauty. Most of the portraits seen here are either family members or commissions. My still life work is generally worked from photographed arrangements of items that I have on hand or requested as a commission and I thoroughly enjoy easing them onto the canvas.
I have been exhibited in several juried shows since 2007 and I have enjoyed the process and the challenge.
There is nothing I love more than a prolonged creative period spent in front of the easel. |
